Springfield Campus in Corsham is on target to be completed in the Summer of 2015.
The campus is a public, communal space and will include leisure facilities and a new library as well as other spaces available for community use, youth services, learning disabilities activities and private hire. There will also be an office area and meeting space for Wiltshire Council, Wiltshire Police and a number of voluntary organisations to use.
Key to delivering Springfield Campus were the Community Operations Board (COB) made up of local volunteers. The COB played a key role in representing the views of, and consulting with, the local community abut campus proposals.
The new all-weather pitch opened early in 2014, with the school and local clubs making full use of it. The full sized hockey pitch is available for community hire during daylight hours at the weekend, and can be rented as a whole pitch or in sections. Full details about hire can be obtained through the Springfield Leisure Centre.

Improving how the campus communicates
Thank you all for your recent comments and feedback about the frequency of updates and the detail of information supplied around the campus project. We will most certainly be taking this on board and look at ways to improve it.
We are pleased to say that the project is progressing as we planned and there is currently a tremendous amount of activity on site. Parts of Springfield Campus will be available for use by the middle of next year, with full availability planned for Summer 2015. We are focusing on the technical build at this stage and are trying to provide images of the developments as they become available, as well as provide information on the projects’ timeline.
The COB (community operations board of local volunteers) has developed a specification for the building and is involved in designing the space and its services. One focus of the COB is communications and they have set up a sub group to consider the issue. This group is always interested to hear from members of the community to participate – if you would like to be involved please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thank you again for getting in contact with us and please do come back to us if you have any more comments.
Midas Construction, the contractor working on the new campus building, publishes regular newsletters about progress on the site.
Printed copies of the newsletter are also available in the reception area of the Springfield Leisure Centre, local GP surgeries and other public buildings, as well as direct to residents in the immediate vicinity.
