The next Assembly will take place at Lackham House, Chippenham SN15 2NY, on Thursday the 25th of September from 9.30am unitl 3.30pm. Buffet lunch provided.
This year’s Assembly will help us to develop a clear picture of all the amazing things we do now, what we could do in the future and how we will respond effectively to our communities, to our major funders, and to our customers.
Our Key Note Speaker this year is Caroline Slocock, Director of Civil Exchange & Head of the Secretariat for the Panel on the Independence of the Voluntary Sector.
On this opportunity, Caroline will present the topic “A Thriving Independent VCS and the Challenges Ahead”.
Caroline has over twenty-five years’ experience, including working at the highest levels in Government and the wider public and voluntary sectors. She set up Civil Exchange at the beginning of 2011 to use her expertise and experience to help government and the third sector understand each other better and work more effectively together.
Caroline was the Chief Executive of the Equal Opportunities Commission; and then moved on to become Chief Executive of Refugee and Migrant Justice, a not for profit organisation providing legal advice to asylum seekers. She also worked with the support of a number of charitable trusts to improve the capacity of the refugee sector to influence the government and public opinion. We will also have a panel with local experts on what they believe are the big agendas that we as a sector need to respond to, followed by sessions where you will have the opportunity to discuss and share your organisation’s vision on the issues presented by the experts. The thematic overviews covered by the panel are as followed:

• The Economy & Business Sector
• New Communities Settling in Wiltshire
