What’s happening at Springfield Community Campus?

Recent visitors to Springfield Community Campus should be pleasantly surprised by the visible progress being made.

The front car park is now available to campus users, which has taken a lot of pressure off the parking issues. The external landscaping and planting is also beginning to take shape and if you are quick, you might spot the blossom on our newly planted trees!

The new front entrance and main reception will open mid-May, along with the newly refurbished dry changing facilities.

The remaining leisure facilities, including the swimming pool and gym, are on schedule to open this summer, in time for the school summer holidays. Please keep an eye out for further announcements coming soon, including a fun range of summer activities that will be on offer.

This evening, Friday 24 April, we are hosting a hustings event from 7.30pm. Why not pop along and question your local parliamentary candidates? This is a fantastic opportunity to hear what they have to say and make an informed decision – who will get your vote?

In the exhibition area at the moment we have a fantastic art display by local artist, Jane Hall. Have you been along to look at her colourful and interesting work? During May, we will be hosting a display by U3A North Wilts. The exhibition space has proved very popular in the community and is fully booked for the rest of this year. Why not get thinking about how you or your group might be able to make use of the space in 2016, and get your slot reserved now!

We have a great range of events and activities lined-up for the May half-term, including the Great Springfield Bake-Off, creative sessions, games and activities. Please pop in and speak to a member of staff, or give us a call for further information.

A final thought for now… do you have a bit of spare time to support older people in your community? We are currently working with partners such as local GPs, Age UK and Alzheimers Society to see how the campus can play an integral role in supporting the elderly and more vulnerable people within our own community. If you are interested in volunteering, or getting involved in some way, then please do get in touch.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone.
