Volunteers’ Week 1-7 June 2014

Volunteers’ Week 1-7 June 2014

Volunteers’ Week is an annual campaign which takes place on 1-7 June and celebrates the fantastic contribution millions of volunteers make across the UK. This year is the 30th anniversary of Volunteers’ Week, and it will be great if all volunteering organisations make every effort to make it a special one.

Volunteer Centre Wiltshire run by Develop Enhancing Community Support, will be putting together a Thank You Booklet. The celebration booklet will focus on saying ‘Thank You’ to the volunteers who regularly contribute to society, and to recognise the way that organisations celebrate the work of volunteers across Wiltshire. (There are still spaces left if you would like to send a Quick Thank You Shout Out to be included). We will also be holding volunteer drop in sessions so make sure we have all your volunteering opportunities so we can promote them to potential volunteers.
But what are you doing to celebrate? are you holding an event or special occasion for your volunteers? are you holding a public event that others can join? Have you produced a celebration video or put together an amazing volunteer case study? why not tell us about it so we can put this on our dedicated page on our website.

There are a number of resources you can access for a range of great material and ideas on the Volunteers Week website. To recognise the 30th anniversary they are using the number 30 as a hook and theme for the week. This is an opportunity for you to get creative and are providing an online pack full of resources and ideas to get you started.

Develop Enhancing Community Support have a range of factsheets for members but during Volunteers Week you will be able to access our factsheet on Rewarding Volunteers for free. Visit our website  from 1 – 7 June where you will be able to download this factsheet or contact us on 0845 034 5250.
