Springfield Community Campus update

Springfield Community Campus update

We would like to thank our customers for their patience and understanding this week during the disruption to the library area whilst the flooring is laid for the new main entrance and reception.

Our contractors have been busy preparing the area as the works to complete the new reception gather pace. For health and safety reasons, a temporary, low-level wall has been installed which we appreciate it causing some disruption to customers and activities. We are trying to keep any noise and disturbance to a minimum whilst this work is being carried out, but if you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me or any member of the campus team who will be pleased to help you.

This work to the reception floor is currently on track to be completed by the end of next week; however the temporary barrier will remain in situ so the contractor can complete the remaining works to reception and the entrance, which is currently due to open in May.

Works to complete the additional car parking area off Beechfield Road are also on track, and the first of the additional parking spaces should become usable to customers by the beginning of April.

All car parking at the campus will continue to be free. Due to the shortage of spaces and the increasing levels of activity at the campus, we would like to politely remind everyone that the campus car park is for visitors and customers using the campus.

Works to complete the refurbishment of the squash courts and movement studio are almost complete, however there is an issue with emergency fire access which we are currently working with our contractor to resolve as soon as possible. We will continue to keep you updated, but at present we anticipate that this issue should be resolved by next week, at which point these facilities will become usable to customers.

Should any of the above information change, we will of course let you know. In the meantime, please do not hesitate to get in touch if you have any queries.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone.
