Springfield campus news

Hello everyone,

I am pleased to announce that Springfield Campus will become partially open to the public from Thursday 7 August.

From this date, the library will have moved across from its exiting location into its new home in the campus, so please come along and take a look, as the new library will be fantastic. Please note that the last day the library will be open in its existing location will be Saturday 26 July, at which point it will be closed until 7 August to allow for the move and some other essential works to take place.

From 7 August, the public cafe will be open, and the community rooms will also be available to hire, with the exception of one of the rooms which will become the temporary gym whilst the leisure facilities receive some maintenance and refurbishment works.

This opening will be followed by an exciting and vibrant programme of summer activities based in and around the campus – details of which will be coming very shortly.

This is your opportunity to help shape the look, feel and value of your new campus. If you have any thoughts, suggestions or ideas for activities that you would like to see happen in the campus, please do get in touch; it’s your facility to use.

If you can’t wait until 7 August to see what the campus looks like inside, why not come along to the Corsham Area Board meeting on Thursday 24 July, from 6.30pm? The meeting will be taking place inside the campus, and, although the campus won’t be quite ready by this stage, we thought it would provide the perfect opportunity to preview the facilities and services on offer. The meeting agenda will allow for plenty of time to wander round the building – plus teas, coffees and cake will be available. Please pop the date in your diary and keep an eye out for further details to come.

It’s the annual summer fete on the rec this Saturday afternoon from 12 til 4pm, and I will be there until 2pm with a stand to talk about the exciting developments at the campus. Please come and say hello and ask any questions you might have.

I’ll be away on holiday next week, so I’ll blog again the following week.

Have a great weekend.
