Springfield community campus partially opened its doors to the public yesterday for the first time.
Although building works are ongoing, and the campus project is not due to be completed until late 2014, the new-build element of the campus is nearing completion and we felt it provided the perfect opportunity to begin to showcase the campus and what it has to offer the local community.
The Corsham Area Board meeting was held in the new campus yesterday evening, 24 July, and was followed by a series of tours. Approximately 200 members of the public came along and had the opportunity to view the new library space, cafe space, climbing wall, exhibition area and the series of flexible community rooms that are now available for hire.
Following some short-term disruption to leisure services, the temporary fitness suite is now available in the new campus, along with the sports hall, squash court, tennis courts, all weather pitch and external changing rooms. The full leisure offer, including the pool, will become available during late 2014.
From 7 August, the new and expanded library will become available in the new campus, along with the cafe. The neighbourhood policing team will also move into its new home in the campus from that date.
Anyone wishing to come and see the new facilities and services on offer is welcome to get in touch and we will happily show you around and speak to you about how the space might work for you and your group.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone.
