Many people signing up to our mindfulness courses have often started their mindfulness journeys by reading about mindfulness and have then decided that they want to benefit from the motivation and support that comes from practising within a teacher-led group.
One of the books that course participants frequently mention is the best-selling Mindfulness – a practical guide to finding peace in a frantic world by Prof. Mark Williams and Danny Penman (from which the quote at the head of this newsletter is taken). The book’s programme is based on mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, a highly effective treatment for recurrent depression, but also beneficial in bringing greater enjoyment of life to those not suffering from depression.
Having undergone some specific training from the Oxford Mindfulness Centre, we are offering a new Mindfulness course, starting in February 2018, based specifically on this book. The course will be suitable for those new to mindfulness, and for those wishing to refresh their practice. The course is designed to be more condensed than our usual eight week course, consisting of eight 75 minute sessions. Further details can be found below.’
