Following on from the successful programme of events held for mental health awareness week, some regular activities are going to be held to support our mental health. The first one to be launched is the Meet Your Neighbour coffee and chat session.
This will be held the second Wednesday of each month at 10.30am in the exhibition space in Springfield Community Campus. It is designed as a place where you can come along to meet others and have a cup of tea and biscuit, a chat, play a board game or just relax for a short while. It is particularly aimed at providing a place for those who feel lonely or isolated or just want to know what there is that they can get involved in.
Despite it being a totally informal and friendly gathering, we are aware that for some, coming along to it may be daunting. If you know of someone who would benefit from attending then perhaps you can bring them along for the first time.
It is totally free. You can come whenever you want and stay for as much time as you want. Why not also combine it with looking around the rest of the campus or a trip to the library or look at the latest exhibition. There are also over 30 regular groups that meet there as well as many other activities that take place. We are sure you will find something you are interested in.
