Make your voice heard on election day

With less than two weeks to go until the general election, people in Wiltshire are being urged to vote on polling day.

The general election takes place on 7 May 2015 and the polls will be open from 7am to 10pm.

Those who are registered to vote in the election should have received their polling card which states their local polling station. People do not need to take their polling card along on the day to vote. On arrival people will be asked for their address and the polling staff will find their name on the register, no ID is required.

The Wiltshire candidates for the election are also available to view on the Wiltshire Council website  People should click on each constituency to find the statement of persons nominated for that area as well as a list of local polling stations.

Carlton Brand, acting returning officer for Wiltshire said: “Our preparation for polling day continues and although it’s extremely busy, so far everything is going smoothly and our fantastic team are doing a great job.
“We want people to have their voice heard, so if you’re eligible, I would ask people to make their vote count.”

There are also two by-elections on the same day – Wiltshire Council Bromham Rowde and Potterne Division and Wiltshire Council Chippenham Hardenhuish Division
