It’s your chance to meet the Commissioner in Chippenham

The Police and Crime Commissioner for Wiltshire and Swindon, Angus Macpherson, is holding his first Meet the Commissioner event in Chippenham next week.
It is being held on Thursday 27 February at 5.30pm at Chippenham Town Hall in High Street, Chippenham, SN15 3ER.
The meeting offers the public a chance to speak to the Commissioner and to hear from him and the Deputy Chief Constable Mike Veale about:
• Progress on implementing the Commissioner’s Police and Crime Plan;
• Finance and value for money (including the strategic partnership with Wiltshire Council)
• The performance of the Constabulary.

Mark Davey, Chief Executive of the Youth Adventure Trust, will report on the work the Trust is doing as a result of its successful bid to the Commissioner’s Innovation Fund.
Acting Inspector Simon Wright will give an update on policing matters concerning the Chippenham area.
The meeting is due to last 90 minutes and will include a question and answer session where you can raise any points or concerns with the Commissioner and Mr Veale.
Refreshments will be served from 5pm before the meeting starts. There is no need to book to attend. Just turn up on the evening.
Mr Macpherson said: “This is the first Meet the Commissioner event to be held in Chippenham and I would like to extend a warm welcome to members of the public from Chippenham and the surrounding towns and villages.
“In fact, the meeting is open to anyone who lives in the area served by Wiltshire Police.
“I am the person accountable to the people when it comes to crime and anti-social behaviour.
“I hold the Chief Constable and the force to account for how they are doing the job; and the voters in turn hold me to account.
“These meetings offer a golden opportunity for me to get feedback from the public on current police and crime issues which will guide me when I consider updates to my Police and Crime Plan.
“I am looking forward to a good turnout and a lively evening of discussion.”
