People are being reminded to renew their garden waste subscription by 18 June if they want to continue to receive the service after 30 June 2016.
Residents can sign up to receive a garden waste collection at any time during the year, but those already receiving the service need to renew by 18 June to avoid any interruption to their collections. The cost of the service is £42 per bin for the year – about 80p per week. The council will not empty garden waste bins that do not have a valid sticker attached. Once someone has renewed their subscription they will be sent a new sticker for July 2016 to June 2017 and will be notified of any change to their collection day.
Toby Sturgis, cabinet member with responsibility for waste, said: “We continue to have a tremendous response from residents on this, and we are delighted people are supporting the service. I would encourage people to make sure they are signed up in time, especially as now is the time of year we produce the most garden waste.”
