Funding for community groups

Colerne Old School Playgroup has just been awarded funding to install an interactive smart board at their playgroup.
Helen Langley one of the leaders said.We would like to thank Corsham Area Board.”The use of an interactive smart board will give our children the opportunity to develop their IT skills in a fun and stimulating ‘hands on’ approach. They will be able to use it to access a range of games and activities to enhance their learning in all areas of the Early Years Curriculum. The smart board can be used to help staff to pass on important information and notices to parents. In the long term we hope to link up with the reception class of the local primary school to do joint activities, which will help our children with the transition to school in the autumn.”
Dave Roberts, the Corsham Community Area Manager said ‘A million pounds has been allocated across the 18 area boards and we are very keen to help local groups deliver projects that will benefit their community. In addition to our community area grants, we are also providing digital literacy grants as part of the Wiltshire Online project to help improve access to the internet and online services across the County.
