Village halls are vital to local communities and as the world changes, so village halls are looking to the future. Many village halls now offer wireless broadband access, projectors, screens and sound systems. This makes the halls useful for conferences, seminars and local training and learning events.
To help village halls move into digital age, Wiltshire’s 18 Area Boards are inviting bids for funding for digital equipment – things like wireless networks, ceiling-mounted projectors, screens and speaker systems.
By having permanent presentation equipment installed, halls can be hired out for things such as training local people in how to use the internet, community reporters, and other functions and events and will save charities and other local organisations having to buy or borrow the equipment (and get it there!)
There are 18 area boards in Wiltshire and they all have a small amount of funding.
