Health Fair and Slipper Exchange
4th October 1pm to 3pm
Springfield Community Campus, Corsham
According to the University Hospitals of Leicester, 24,000 over-65s in the UK fall over at home every year because of poorly fitting footwear. The majority of these falls are caused by wearing- worn or loose slippers. Falls in older people can be catastrophic and are the number one cause of injury and injury-related deaths in people over the age of 65. Accidents can happen so easily, but many falls can be avoided by wearing correctly fitted, supportive footwear.
The Corsham Health and Wellbeing group are therefore running a health fair and slipper exchange event to which everyone is invited. If you bring your old slippers (if you have any), we will swap them for a new pair and dispose of your old ones.
At the same time, there will be a range of organisations present to offer you help, advice and health checks ranging from the Bobby Van to falls prevention advice and care to support for alzheimers.
Please come along and help spread the word as wide as possible. If you want to have a stall or have any questions, please contact
We look forward to seeing you on the 4th October
