The special annual County of Wiltshire Carol Service is taking place next week in Swindon, and all are welcome to attend.
The service takes place on Tuesday 8 December from 7pm in Christ Church, Cricklade Street, Swindon. It will be co-hosted by HM Lord-Lieutenant of Wiltshire, in conjunction with the Wiltshire Council Chairman, Councillor Richard Britton, and Baroness Scott of Bybrook, OBE, Leader of Wiltshire Council and The Worshipful the Mayor of Swindon, Councillor Andrew Bennett and Leader of Swindon Borough Council, Councillor David Renard.
The service will be conducted by The Reverend Canon Simon Stevenette, Vicar of Christ Church and Area Dean of Swindon.
Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Wiltshire said: “I am delighted to be co-hosting the County of Wiltshire Carol Service at Christ Church in Swindon, together with both Swindon Borough Council and Wiltshire Council. The carol service is held in different locations throughout the county each year and is a wonderful opportunity for all those who support their communities to come together and celebrate the Christmas season.
“Our thanks this year go to The Rev. Simon Stevenette, Vicar of Christ Church, who will be kindly welcoming us to Swindon.”
The Chairman and Leader of Wiltshire Council said: “The service is a lovely way to celebrate the closer relationships between councils, key partners and communities at this special time of year. We are sure it will get everyone in the festive spirit.”
The Mayor and Leader of Swindon Borough Council, said: “Swindon is delighted to welcome the Lord Lieutenant’s Annual Carol Service to Christ Church this Christmas. Members of the public are welcome to attend the service, which will last for approximately one hour and will be followed by seasonal refreshments.
