Corsham’s pioneering new mind shed up and running

Weekly Wednesday meetings from 1.30pm to 4pm
Potley and Pockeridge Community Centre, Corsham, SN13 9SB

Corsham’s new Memory Shed is a partnership between Wiltshire charity Alzheimer’s Support and the town’s Brunel Shed and is supported financially by the Corsham Health and wellbeing group

It aims to support men and women living with dementia, who have enjoyed making things in the past, to retain and revive their practical and creative skills.

Volunteers from Brunel Shed will be present at each session alongside a facilitator from Alzheimer’s Support.

A range of safer tools and equipment has been purchased for the group thanks to a grant from Corsham Health and Wellbeing group.

We meet between 1.30pm and 4pm and will have time for refreshments during the afternoon.

Projects planned for the group include making bird boxes, memory boxes, wooden animals and raised flower beds.
Members will be able to come up with their own suggestions for projects for the group and be supported to work on their own chosen projects.

Volunteer helpers support the group and can assist members as required.
Family carers are welcomed as full members of the group and are encouraged to take part, creating their own pieces of work.

Everyone works at their own pace and there is a lot of laughter (and occasionally singing!) along the way.
