Corsham’s elderly invited to exchange old slippers for new at health fair event

Elderly people from the Corsham community area are invited to exchange their old pair of slippers for a brand new pair, free of charge. This exchange of slippers is being held at Springfield Community Campus on Beechfield Road in Corsham on Thursday 20 November from 2.30pm to 5pm.

Alongside this event will be a community area health fair, where members of the public from the Corsham community area are invited to come and browse a range of local health-themed stalls. There will be an opportunity to have your blood pressure checked, speak to local healthcare providers and even obtain a free leisure taster pass.

The day’s events will include:

From 2.30pm til 5pm – health fair and slipper exchange.

From 4.15pm til 5.15pm – free dementia friends session.

From 5.30pm til 7pm – Corsham Area Board with a presentation on Wiltshire’s Better Care Plan.

If you stick around for the afternoon, you can also have a go at Zumba Gold – seated zumba!

The slipper exchange is a partnership between the Corsham Area Board, Somerset Care and Brantano. Brantano will be present on the day to help find and fit the right pair of slippers for each individual.

We hope to see you there.
