Community Litter Picks were definately not a load of rubbish!

Community Litter Picks were definately not a load of rubbish!

On behalf of Corsham Area Board, can I say a huge THANK YOU to all those who took part in the Great British Spring Clean last weekend. In the Corsham Area alone we had 8 events covering Lacock, Colern, Box and Corsham. Despite the wind and the showers, about 140 people took part and over 200 bags of rubbish was collected.

It was not easy trying to coordinate over 200 events across Wiltshire so apologies for any problems you may have encountered. Comments back have been really positive with many saying that we really enjoyed doing something together with their neighbours that made a difference. Some groups and individuals have committed themselves to other litter picks later in the year.

This is a good example of how the community and the public services can work together to make a real difference. If any group wants to organise their own litter pick then do contact Richard.rogers@wiltshire.gov.uk as we have equipment that you can borrow.
