Corsham’s first ever TEDx event on the theme of ‘Changing the Rules’ took place on Friday 19th January at the Pound venue.
Tedx are independently organised events under the TED banner that bring people together to share a TED like experience.
TEDx Corsham was organised to spark conversations and connections across the community. It was organised by Libby Forsyth, a sixth-form student at Corsham school with support from the Pound Arts and funding from Corsham Area Board and Corsham Town Council.
The goal was to inspire young people in our area about what the community has to offer and the speakers certainly did this. This included Helen Belcher speeking about changing media, Rachel Neaman on ‘Technology Rules? Not OK…’, Kate Cross on changing the rules of engagement between adults and children as well as Dave Jarman on start a side project.
Those in the picture from left to right are Cllr Ben Anderson, Dave Jarman , Libby Forsyth, Cllr Ruth Hopkinson, Cllr Phil Whalley, Sophie Moysey (Pound Arts)
The Corsham Institute will be making videos of the speakers available on the TEDx platform and I would encourage you to have a listen and be inspired to change the rules yourself
