Calling 1960s music lovers!

Calling 1960s music lovers!

I am researching a programme, which will hopefully go out over the Christmas period on BBC Wiltshire, looking at some of the great musical acts that came to the county in the 1960’s, and hoping to meet some of the people who attended the gigs, but also talk a little bit about the venues.

So far, I have had an overwhelming response from Swindon, and I am really keen to hear from people from the rest of the county and would love to interview a wide range of people who remember the gigs.

Which is where you come in.

Do you remember seeing great acts such as:

The Kinks at Chippenham’s Neeld Hall (1964)
Status Quo at Devizes Town Hall (1968)
Craig Douglas or Emile Ford and the Checkmates at the Salisbury Gaumont (1960 the 60’s earliest gigs in the county)
The Who at Trowbridge town hall (1965)
Gene Vincent at Westbury Vista (1962)
The Rolling Stones at Longleat (1964)

I’d love to hear from anyone regarding any of these gigs or perhaps others that you are aware of.

Please get in touch with me, Carl Humphreys hump3s@hotmail.com I’d love to hear from you!
