Great British Spring Clean
March 2nd – 4th
Communities in the Corsham area have over the past few years joined thousands of others to come together once a year to help clean up their local area
This year the litter-picking weekend will form part of a wider educational Clean Up Wilts campaign which will focus on litter from food-on-the-go, chewing gum and cigarette butts, as well as the community litter picks.
The national Great British Spring Clean will take place on the weekend of 2nd to 4th March and we are keen for as many parishes, community groups, businesses, schools, neighbours and people as possible to take part again!
In the past few years, communities in the Corsham Area have championed the campaign and worked hard to help make these events both successful and fun!
In 2017 more than 3,200 volunteers took part in litter picks across the county, giving up their time to help make their communities a better place to live. In all, 152 litter picks took place throughout the county during the Great British Spring Clean weekend, when the volunteers collected 3,025 bags of rubbish, with 18.15 tonnes collected in total just in this weekend.
If you would like to organise a clean up, please get in touch with me and I can support you with providing equipment, advice as well as arranging pickup and disposal of the rubbish bags.
I look forwards to hearing from you – thank you again!
